Join us in marking a pivotal moment in the battle against TB this World TB Day, March 24, 2024. Following the United Nations High-Level Meeting on TB in September 2023, we’ve witnessed unprecedented progress: a record 7.5 million people were diagnosed with TB, out of an estimated 10.3 million people with the disease in 2022, this is the highest number of people with TB ever diagnosed and treated in a year. Globally, we continue to celebrate the impact made by High-Burden TB Countries in expanding access to groundbreaking diagnostics, treatments, and technologies for people and communities affected by TB.
The focus is clear: there is a need to escalate funding for implementation, accelerated research and development for new tools including vaccines, enhanced access to rapid molecular diagnosis and efficient treatments, we need to prioritize TB prevention, address TB in children, and support the vital work in Communities, Rights, and Gender.
On 24 March 2024, we will need everyone – political leaders, civil society, donors, researchers, TB communities, the private sector, and most importantly, each of us – to take this message one step further by saying what each of us is doing to help End TB, and challenging those in power to do the same.
This World TB Day, we call on everyone—political leaders, civil society, donors, researchers, the TB community, the private sector, and individuals—to declare their actions to fight TB and to challenge others to do the same. Together, we stand united in our mission to end TB and save lives.
Let’s all pledge to drive forward change, embodying the spirit of ‘Yes! We Can End TB!’ on this World TB Day and beyond.
YES! WE CAN END TB
